Ado: soulslider: Got a SE singlespeed for commuting to work and a light kit. Forgot how nice a good CroMo frame feels.Really really REALLY digging the rat rod look. And in response to the seatpost... Is that thing electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, ??? And at first glance, things like that are one of the few things I don't like about mountain biking... so complex, so many moving parts, and if there's more moving parts it must be better. [/whine]

ilikepie: el Hamburglar:I'm planning on converting an old 21 speed bike into a single-speed/fixed gear this spring. Does anyone have experience doing this? or know good shops (in the midwest or online) that I can get parts from? Converting a road bike is a waste of money these days. You can go to places like bikesdirect.com, and get full bikes for less than the price of a decent fixed gear wheelset and crank. I rode this (http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/id/boise-city/954124016722487641 ) on my road bike today(60cm Cannondale R1000 with Campy Veloce groupo) That climb is a litle tough with your lowest gear being 39x25

[/whine] I have that bike in last year's paint job. Those frames are a couple CMs shorter than advertised, and the top tubes are super short. Makes for an uncomfterable ride if your riding long distances. However, it's a super fun bike for commuting, and rides smooth and stiff.

The short top tube is great for me since I have short arms. It's actually more comfortable than my Trek Pilot. I've only been on my road bike once since I got the SE. I've been commuting the last 2 weeks (19 miles round trip) and when I'm riding with my dad or my wife it levels the playing field.
ilikepie:ah see, I'm tall and lanky, so The 61cm(which is really only 58cm) isn't so good for me. I need to ditch the stupid Deep V's I have and get a lighter wheelset.
tall and lanky meet short and stubby, my Lager is the 49cm. Still riding my Cannondale Killer V frame for the trails. Haven't found any mountain bike frame that fits me so well.

I got a free Bianchi frame. Had a great crank on it. My buddy sold me the wheels for $70 and then another friend gave me a pair of peddles for free. The other bike was pretty much the same situation but the wheels cost me about $90.
That is amazing. It doesn't even seem possible.
Pretty cool to watch.

that was entertainin' ... the guy is cwazy good. I liked the 360 popped off the front wheel, the tail-wip transfer... impressive balance.
