yeah, the new cars look kinda unfinished (or like squid from some angle) but let's hope they change for the better as time goes by

Round 1 in the can - nice work Team Brawn!

i was trackside turn 5 for the event. never been a huge motorsport fan, but damn those things are impressive. LOUD too. ahhhh good times had by all. even scored a fragment of Nakajima's Williams after he went into the wall as a souvenier

Re: The Official Formula 1 Discussion Thread.

i've decided i'm backing team brawn this season.
i decided this prior to the qualifying and the 1-2 finish.
firstly honda dropping out, plus i like the look of their cars. white and neon stripes. and not that massive plank of plywood looking thing leading to the rear spoiler that a lot of the teams seem to have been running.
plus jensen button is british and reubens barrichello just rolls off the tongue and is kinda synonymous with formula one.
the car looks like a bank canvas with barely any sponsors draped all over it. i wonder how this might change.
i'm a newbie though and know very little about F1.
i was at the melbourne grand prix in 2000 mind you. the noise, the first time they came around the bend was unforgettable. goose bumptastic it was.

The snub nose on the Renault look kind fugly. Had a great F1 breakfast party - I was on my way to winning $20 until lap 12 and then it all went wrong.

Massa's a chump. But I bet he wins the world championship this year.

impressive win for Button and Brawn. not happy about how fragile the front wings are...  and the lack of downforce is obvious... this year is gonna be a wreck fest

Only remotely possible if Brawn's diffuser is deemed illegal.

If everyone is jumping on the Brawn wagon, I am jumping on the Brawn anti-wagon. If Brawn is that good, it's going to be a terrible season. Never been a Button fan. He is a smooth driver NOT a racer!

I hope someone like Vettel steps up and poses a challenge to Button. Or hopefully McLaren adapt the same style of diffuser Brawn is using and turn their season around.

they'll all scramble and spend tons of money trying to replicate the diffuser, then F1 will say it's illegal and all the cost-saving measures are out the window, yay!

Vettel Vettel Vettel !! all the mags are gushing about Vettel as the new wunderkid. He's no Michael Shumacher. He's really good, but um... not *that* good.

He won Monza last year with a Toro Rosso car. I think that says a lot. And he clearly outpaced Mark Webber his teammate at Melbourne. And Webber ain't no slouch. Given the right car, I think this kid is a future world champion, if not multiple championships.

on a similar note Bourdais got his ass handed to him by the only rookie of the season: Buemi, both on STR

    F1 2009 = Fail.

Once everyone adopts Brawns diffuser. Alonso wins the title.

    End of story.

Wow, confusing.  They over-ruled the over-ruled judgment.  ??  That might be valuable points lost in what should be a tight race to the end of the year.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

FInally someone called Lewis on his unsporting and lying behavior! Sadly he'll remain the golden boy (though Vettel is a far faster, better and more talented driver... and not a total cock).

F1 might be interesting this season afterall.
