Boot/Binding fit - Right size, wrong shape?

So far I have tried the following combinations:

2006 K2 boots (size 10) with 2007 Burton Custom bindings (Large)

2009 Burton Driver X boots (size 9.5) with 2007 Burton Custom bindings (Large)

2009 Burton Drover X boots (size 9.5) with 2009 Burton Cartel EST bindings (Medium)

I’m not sure if this is an issue or if it is something that even matters, but I have been having the hardest time getting my boot all the way in the back of the binding.  What seems to be causing the issue is the angle of the boot VS the able of the highback.

The boot seems to be the issue more than anything else.  While the boot has a forward lean to it, towards the top of the boot, it seems to angle back towards a 0 degree angle (obviously so it is easier to walk with).  Combined with a forward angle of the highback, the top of the boot is hitting the top of the highback.

The boot looks centered on the bed, but the back of the boot is not touching the back of the baseplate (the circular part that the highback sits on).

Is it normal to not have the back of the boot touching the back of the baseplate?

You want just above the heel of your boot to be in contact with the back of your binding as much as possible.  You may need to bend your boot a little, or kick your heel into your binding when strapping in to get the boot to sit in the binding properly.

when your in your boots standing on your board strapped in your boots will be touching the baseplates, the bindings forward lean is what is stopping it right now

I think those K2 boots were your bigest problem.  Burton boots interface with Burton bindings and make for a interlocking fit. But Driver x are the stiffest boot i have ever riden and can sometimes make simple task deficult. Try riding med bindings and dialing back your forward lean also adjust the rotation of you highback so it is in line with your board edge. Make sure the highback in pressed against the heelhoop on the binding base. Maybe even move you ankle straps up the highest positon so you can crank that boot back.Whisper
