    Hi, I am looking to buy my first board but don't know what size to get. Im 5'5 and 145 lbs. I was looking at the Burton 2009 Feather 144cm but I think maybe I weigh too much for it. Could anyone give me a recommendation on what size board I need. Thanks.

    hi.

    that board size is fine for your height and weight.

    you want to be towards the heavier end of the board's weight range when you're starting out because you'll be going slower and the board will be softer relative to your weight and be easier to manipulate.

    PUTTING YOUR BOARD UP TO YOUR CHIN OR RELATING IT TO YOUR HEIGHT IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN STANCE WIDTH IS ABSOLUTE BULLSH!T. If the guy at the shop (or your brother/ boyfriend/husband/dad) tells you that, tell him to f@ck off.
