Hands down the Hail! Super sick fit and a huge air bag for that much needed extra cush on those landings.

The Hail is a noodle boot.  Most boots, in my experience at least, are fairly similar in the amount of "cushioning" they have.  If you have bad knees I'd think you'd want a more supportive boot rather than something that flexes a lot.  The Hail was one of the shittiest boots  have ever used....45 days in and they are too soft for any legit support.  Just head to a shop and try boots on and find one that you feel is cush enough for your likings and again, find something more supportive.

I know we both rode Libertines last season, and I think the Hail has got to be more supportive then those things. Libertines are complete mush, which is why I'm surprised at how your describing hails. I went through 2 pairs of libertines last year...THOSE are a noodle boot.

i currently have a driver x, which is a really hard and supportive boot, but with little cushioning.

The Libertine is great, but yes, if you ride a lot you definitely need two pair (unless you like really soft boots).  I switched to the Charge this year and find that it's a great boot, especially if you want a more supportive boot.
