I just reread this.  Wow.  You really can go fuck yourself now.  You were the one that ratted Dogfunk out because you cannot compete with them.  They provide world class service and you cannot.  Don't throw someone else under the bus because your business isn't doing so well and vendors are sending you notices.

You saw the success of Dogfunk on this message board and couldn't deal with it so you had to rat them out and buy your customers by going the Sierra route: having giveaways and making people buy their discount.

Again, not ONCE has James or Dogfunk had any expectation of their customers where you have.

If people can't read this for what it is (my quote from you) then they truly are as ignorant as they have made themselves out to be.

I'm going to buy from Dogfunk at RETAIL before I'd give you a fucking dollar of my money.

You are a dirtbag and a shady business person.

guess that's a big no, hey?

And just because 90% of dealers violate vendor agreements doesn't make it right.

Oh so Porters doing it is ok, but the rest of them aren't?

Makes all the sense in the world!

You must be the one and only person on here that never asked James for a discount or never had one from someone else?  I'm going to assume that's why you don't see everything wrong with the business practice of Porters.

Porters isn't violating sh!t.  Chappy went out of the way to make sure he was on the up and up.   Quit acting the spoiled child and grow up.

TJ...did you read my long post?

I addressed each of your assertions / questions. Maybe I have to break them into smaller bites to swallow?

Do you want your crap or not?

Do you want whatever kit I deprived you of (if it's different than what's in my office)? Tell me what it is and it'll be on your front door step by Friday.

Again I'm bored here TJ.....seriously I am. And I took this "public" because you took it public first. Don't bring a toy knife to a gun fight.

I'm completely fine in dropping it all, and doing this privately with you from here out. My point has been made quite well, and I apologize for pawning you with getting info about DF violating Oakley's dealer agreements....

I read it.  I've read everything.

You took it public, which I have no qualms about, but the matter of which you did is where I have an issue.  You need to think and post like a business owner, not like a BMBer or ELer.  If you had such an issue with what I said you should have discussed it with me personally, but to each their own.

Again, why do I find myself telling you how to conduct business?

And please refrain from the lame attempts of throwing Dogfunk under the bus.  I think nearly every dealer out there violates agreements.  I don't see how vendors can be ok with you giving things away on a daily basis to lure customers to your website.  I think a discount is a much more tasteful way of getting customers than giving them free stuff.  Also, making people pay for a discount?  That's one of the most tasteless things I have heard of.

I DID NOT instigate this being in public TJ. You did. Do you have amnesia? And hell you went out of your way to bring this up in this thread...something private between me and you.

I am thinking like a business owner. This was all private until you made it public. When you did that, I have to defend myself against the untruths that PortersTahoe does not have world class customer service. We have an unused lifetime return policy. We have a performance satisfaction guarantee that if you use something and don't like it you can return it. We do free standard ground shipping to the lower 48 for orders over $50. We ship sh1t fast like too.

You're telling my how YOU would conduct business as if what you're saying is the "right" or only way to conduct business. Again you - NOT ME - made this public. I've defended myself against accusations, and apologized where need be. I would've preferred this all to have been private, but I stand by how / what I've done up till now just like a good chess player....including using you as a pawn to get info about DF's violation of Oakley's policies.

Speaking of that TJ, this is where you're wrong. Yes dealers have been violating agreements up the wazoo and it's RUINING the snowboard industry. Starting with a couple of major players (Burton family of brands, K2 family of brands, Oakley, Volcom, etc) they are shutting off the valve and ACTIVELY are policing the discount codes run amok finally. I'm helping them by dangling "double the coupon code" discounts in front of unsuspecting, naive customers who are a part of the problem by just wanting to get 2010 gear at below MSRP.

Giving away free stuff DOES NOT violate any of those major brand's dealer agreements. Do you seriously think I'd be doing what I'm doing without having my lawyer examine my strategies up oneside and down the other? Hell, there are really only two "windows" of opportunity according to these dealer agreement for a retailer to be giving discounts anymore.....through year-end rebates REI style....or through paying club memberships.

And no one has to pay to get the year-end rebate from PortersTahoe through EasyLoungin. You can sign up for free.

The paying membership is so that you have access to all of the free giveaways....as well as the rad trips we'll be lining up like for instance riding heli with Jeremy Jones and maybe Travis Rice in Haines, AK. Sounds like something you'd like the opportunity to win a seat on a heli for???

You just don't get it because you're vision / perception is clouded with the nonsense that's gone on with your special orders.

No I was not the one who ratted DF out. I've never talked to Oakley about DF because I couldn't get the A to Z out of you....hell I couldn't even get a coupon code out of you.

They got shut down because THE INDUSTRY is finally starting to police itself. Someone else beat me to the punch TJ, but nice ASSuming.

I'm going the patioland route as far as giving stuff away and building a community yes....but withought the deception masquerading as generosity.

I have zero expectations of my customers, what are you talking about?

I'm the nicest guy you'll ever meet, and there is absolutely NOTHING shady about what I'm doing. It's ALL by the book whereas 99% of the others out there are not abiding by the dealer agreements. I am and I give a *** for the Milosports, Wave Raves, Boards n Motions of the world. Man o man do you have this ALL backwards TJ....

Not 2010 stuff no. It's a violation of the dealer agreements and part of what's wrong with the snowboard industry to condition customers to NEVER pay full retail. Makes it so that the little shops can't compete and they go out of business....

What's shady or wrong with any of it? Read what I've posted TJ. I've had multiple lawyers look at what I'm doing. I've talked to sales managers and they're completely kosher with it...

i don't know who james is, or df for that matter or even chappy or porters tahoe. i live in australia as you know. i don't know what sort of crazy system you've got there and i don't really care. when i want something i go to a shop and i take it to the counter and i pay for it. if it's on special that's my good luck.

i've read the emails. you're in the wrong. you ordered the gear, chappy got it in for you, you got to pay for it and take delivery. everything else is a load of ***. we aussies are a simple and direct lot. if you don't cough up you're a tool.

Thanks Pastaboy for ultimately bringing it to the dollars and sense as a business owner. I have long ago ordered and paid for stuff TJ told me wanted, and I have no payment from him....and payment at a ridiculous 38% off mind you.

Now he's conveniently ducking saying that he'd prefer to pay full retail at DF. Tell you what TJ. I should get a hold of James, send this stuff directly to him, you pay James, and I trust that James will pay me.

    Deal?

That's 100% correct TJ....giving away things for FREE does not violate the dealer agreements. Any type of method or code or thing you click on or do as a customer that reduces the price of your Oakley item in the shopping cart of ANY website is....

You still don't get it. I spent days and weeks crafting my plan here TJ with the Lounge...and went over it with a fine tooth comb with multiple attorneys.

**shaking my head at your intellectual ineffectiveness**
