I think it's just the lack of confidence in your own skill ability. The reason I don't hit a 45 foot booter is because even though I know how to land a jump, I don't have the ability to recover if something went insanely wrong in teh air.
Starting small helps built confidence and courage and yo SkiLLzz that you need to achieve what you want.
AFter you are confident in your ability to hit a big ass jump or a steep chute and you have thought about every possible way to recover from a potential disaster you grab your ballsack and go.
