    Michael Crichton

Was anyone else a fan of him?  A couple of his books are some of my favorites.  I thought he presented science in about as interesting way as you can.  Sphere, Timeline and Andromeda Strain are great reads.

Even though it's 40 years old or something, Andromeda Strain is still a great read.  First of the techno-thrillers.

I was really sad to hear of his death.  I always looked forward to his books and could barely put them down.   The last book he did about patenting genomes got some bad reviews but I thought it was excellent.

    Big fan as well.  Bummer.

All his books where many times better than the movies, IMO.

    Writes some pretty good fiction.

Except all the dinosaurs that were in "Jurassic Park" were actually from the Cretaceous period. He should have called it "Cretaceous Park."

    Re: Michael Crichton

I thought his last two books (prey, state of fear) got a little political for my tastes, but still liked them.  I don't think he ever wrote a bad book.  Too bad almost all of the movies were let downs.
