Like boards without rattlesnake tip and tail turnups or beartooth edge inserts or whatever the hell they're calling the shit nowadays?

YES - now in front of banana

I think the banana still has more rocker than the Yes board. But which is better on groomers?

Re: RDM, DCP and JP Solberg New board Company

Quite a team they are putting together . . .

I have ridden various Nideckers with the UG tech, and they hold an edge as well as anyhting else i have tried - the best thing i can say about it is that you cant tell its doing anything, just feels like you are riding a normal board with great edge hold, unlike MTX (which i am a big fan of) which sometimes feels like it has a mind of its own. One thind is that it is razor sharp, so watch dem edges

As for the rocker, having ridden pretty much all the designs out there, but mainly 50 + days each on a Skate Banana 59, Phoenix 57, and a K2 Gyrator 62, i concluded that the K2 tech was my favorite, as it had the best of both worlds, great float and flex, but still solid on the piste and at holding a carve, so this season i wanted to get a board which basically rockered out at the ends, rather than in the middle - i like Capitas flat kick tech too. Though i havent ridden it yet, the Yes seems to me to have the ideal mix of rocker out at the ends, and camber in the middle for some snap - besdies this board is not designed for jibber jabbing, but railing it at monster hits all over the mountain, and extensive use of the BMB patented SieraStyle Hand Flexing Technique leads me to believe that this board is no noodle. Plus it pretty much has alot of the best Flavors that went into the UNINC's, mixed up with some tech that makes sense, and put together in one of the best facilities out there.

Re: RDM, DCP and JP Solberg New board Company

i haven't been on a board that rockered at the tips but in my mind they should have the worst edge hold and stabillity because as you tip the board on edge and begin to engage the edge from the contact points the contact poinst are essentially where the rocker begins, thats just how i see it in my head

Yeah, i know what you mean - when i got the K2 i was expecting it to be *** on the piste, and was genuinely suprised at how good it was.

i feel the same about pretty much all that, and definitely the yes design.. the one we got is floating around here somewhere so ill have to figure that out so i can ride it this winter.  it doesnt have that ultimate grip stuff though, but its probably cause its a pre production board.

I've got my Green Machine FK 158 coming, but I'm tempted to put a Yes 160 in the quiver. They should be showing up any day now...

The guy who posted on the TW site has it close,

"why will it be sick? it will undoubtably be off the shelf constructions and tech from GST or Elan. juts another “brand” with no engineers or designers behind it. boring. long live mervin, long live the BMC, long live indies with their own factories, and death to all these cookie cutter rider owned nonsense brands"

These obviously will be just stamped out from a factory with some cool graphics, little to no real tech advancement, who knows about the construction?? Nothing to see here---hope these guys put as little of their own $$ into this venture as possible.

And why on Earth would you want to start a new board co. in these economic times--seems well thought out---not.

Source, or link to your "facts", moron?

Bobby, before you go opening your mouth--read the post---I was quoting someone else---about the factory that will produce them or the lack of engineers. You see Bobby thats what these little things called " " (quotes) are for. My later statement were opinions and not facts. What about them do you disagree with? Cool graphics? Little to no tech advancement? Please Bobby name me some tech advancement from board co.'s like Dinosaurs Will Die, TechNine, etc etc. Those boards will be stamped out asap to get this co. rolling--if they move forward. Do you honestly believe they've got some sick tech stuff up their sleeves that they held out from Burton?? They have a time imperative to capatalize on the name aspect of these riders before a percentage of the public believes (wrongly) that these guys are washed up due to being cut. Wanna argue about construction? Do you know what manufacturer is gonna press em? I stated who knows? Thats an open ended question Bobby with no fact associated with it.   Perhaps you want to argue about the current economic state that we are in--apparently you need some facts--to prove what? That the economy sucks? Cmon guy.

Better go back to riding powder. You skills at argument are lacking. Just what I want it an "agent" --a real bulldog you are Bobby. I might suggest some reading on the subject as you are ostensibly acting as an advocate--also I might suggest some attention to detail.

Just re reading this thread, and thought i would drag this back up, as basically Lazyguy got totally owned, and props to RFK

Re: RDM, DCP and JP Solberg New board Company

    YES... Finally. You have arrived!

Amongst all of the marketing hype and hyperbole, the fleeting flashes of cool, attributes of attitude, claims on counter claims of technical breakthrough's, superior graphics, cutting edge design, or space age materials comes a fresh wind of simplicity – YES, it has arrived and so have you.

If there has ever been a case of 'Been there, done that, ain't gonna do that again tomorrow...”, then the people who are the heart and soul of the YES Snowboard project surely make then Top 10 on that list and many others to boot. YES, they are some of the most passionate snowboarders to have ever graced the slopes anywhere in the world. YES, they have always given 110% to both the activity of riding and the lifestyle we affectionately call snowboarding. YES, it's all about the passion! YES, their passion and yours.

Friends, travel and riding partners for the last 10 years, David Carrier Porcheron (DCP), Romain de Marchi and JP Solberg have tirelessly criss-crossed the globe riding every possible terrain and conditions imaginable. YES is the distillation of this voyage, bringing their infatuation of riding and their extensive combined experiences into sharp focus in the boards they design and ride, creating a full bodied cocktail with an exciting and fruity aftertaste!

YES is an independent snowboard company endorsed by NdKreative who have over 20 years experience in board design, , YES doesn't strive to be No.1, simply a refreshing and real alternative to the stale state of the status quo.

YES, it's personal. Three limited collections of only 100 boards available per year.

YES, it's original. New distribution network, new shapes, new thinking and ideas.

YES, it's passionate. We let the riding do the talking, rather than talk about riding.

YES, it's progressive. Small multiple runs allow constant tweaking and improvements.

YES, it is available to you. Just follow the ordering instructions and you are all but on the hill.

    YES, it's here....

    So.... YES. NOW(,)BOARD!

Re: RDM, DCP and JP Solberg New board Company

So they're only selling 300 boards a year or what?  I got mad love for a company trying to keep it real but you got to pay the bills somehow too, ya know?  Hook one of them up old school without all the new banana peel shit and i'll pay cash for it.
