    It's happening again...

This is the third pair of Cartel's I've owned. I've ridden this pair for 3 days. The inside of both straps have already started to wear through. Why have I continued to buy Cartels? Because they just work as far as riding goes. But now I'm thinking that the 3rd time is enough. Surely there's a more durable material that can be used without sacrificing comfort.

This is the last pair of B binders I buy until something changes. Hello Union!

what does strap wear have to do with how the binders ride?

meh, I'm just sick of having to replace straps. It doesn't affect the ride at all, I just think it's a design fault that wouldn't take much to fix.

    Re: It's happening again...

I dunno, I think it's potentially because I'm right at the lower end of medium bindings, so to get them cranked there's a lot of time where the strap is being pulled across and down onto the boot, hence more friction and more wear. Last year the speedzone hook definitely contributed to the issue, but I was hoping with 09 Ions it wouldn't happen.

Do you wear metal boots? HaHa
Would Love to see pics of this damage. I have never seen any damage to what you speak grasshopper. Please include pics of your damage or I will be forced to call your bluff....

I ride the $%%$^% out of all my bindings and I've never seen wear on the inside of any strap. I only see wear on the ladders that get chewed up.

he has no reason to bluff, Andy is solid normal people. I saw some of his older straps, they were fucked but didn't we attribute that to wear they were hitting your boots dude?

    Re: It's happening again...

This was about 10 days of use running 08 Cartels with 32 TM-Two's. Things got much worse when the 08 Ion speedzone hook came into play.

I'll post a pic of the strap wear on the new ones later.

It's not a major thing and it's not like the straps are going to break, but it's super annoying when they fill with snow, or get tattered and catch on stuff. Not a deal breaker, but a very simple thing that I think can be fixed easily. The OG Cartels had full leather straps and were just as comfy, plus they lasted much longer than the new 'cushy' ones.

Even if the strap is showing some wear and tear, does it really make a difference?

it was the exposed speed zone lace guide that was causing it, wasn't it?

After only ten days of use there is definitely an issue there. I blame the magetraction personally.

Andy, hit me up for a code when you're getting a new pair. Especially if you're going to be in SLC in the near future.
