My dad dropped off an old klein at the house for me that i desparately want to ride around. only prob is i dont have any shoes. anyone have any 10.5 cycling shoes lying around? 300 dollar sidi's are not in my budget.

Yes actually. With both bikes down and no money to repair them I'm certainly not using them (and they are a tad to big for my feet). PM me your addy and I will try to send them out on Monday.

Absolutely. Still pretty new and in decent shape.

Hipsters aside, fixed gears are fun and simple bikes.  I've been riding fixies for about 9 years (well before they became "hip") and still ride them today.  If you ride (road or mountain) a lot you'll find a fixie really helps make your pedaling fluid and consistent.  You may wreck (brakes or no brakes) but that is part of the risk of riding a bike in general.  I've seen more bike wrecks of people with helmets on commuter bikes than people fixies and no brakes. Brakes or no brakes, trendy or not give it a shot and just get out and ride.

    Re: 2009 official bike thread

Had a great biked lined up yesterday (SC Heckler, 05 for cheap), but it sold within 8 hours of being on the classifieds site, before I could even get home and email the dude. I guess I'm not the only one looking out.

Going riding this weekend on a loaner though, SC Nomad.

Now I "need" a Nomad. So fun. Chairlift DH in the sun, perfect day. Hopefully more of the same lined up for tomorrow.

Basically just went on an epic journey through the hood, on a bike worth more than these people's cars...
    summary: yikes.

Nomads are fantastic bikes. Wish I had one myself.

They're hard to find 2nd hand though. Now my buddy & adviser is suggesting something a little more DH focused. Demo, Bullit, etc.

I'm not sure. Nomad seemed to do everything pretty well today, now that I have the suspension set up nicely to how it should be. Nomad/Enduro with more serious wheels etc should be okay, plus if I move somewhere that doesn't have chairlift DH, it'll still be light enough for pedalling up.

I've been thinking about either a nomad or a titus el guapo. The el guapo has to be the nicest looking bike i've ever seen.

Interesting spoke setup.  There's gotta be something better than the way 99% of wheels do it now, it's nice to see someone trying something different.

I cut about 5" off the seat post on my P1 yesterday, I can drop the seat all the way to the frame now.  Not sure I'm 100% confident in the rear rim, it's hard to tell if the rim is bending or the tire is just getting yanked out of alignment on it (black tire on a matte black rim, and I haven't bothered to check it out when I'm not on the bike), but the tread pattern is shaking a little when I ride it. I might upgrade to something like an Atomlab Pimp eventually.  Otherwise after about a month I'm thrilled with the bike.

Problem with the Nomad and Titus is that they're so freakin' hard to find!

I'm still scouring classifieds trying to find something. Hopefully soon.

That's a Crank Bros wheelset....the Iodine I believe. Supposed to be pretty sick but really expensive. The idea behind them is the spokes are attached to those flanges that are milled into the outside of the rim as opposed to being screwed into holes drilled through the rim. In theory that should make the rim stronger. No holes means you can rock them tubeless as well.

Where do you ride your P1 mainly? If it's just street stuff or hardpack (jumping or pump tracks) check out the Intense Micro Knobby:

I'm a big fan of Intense tires.
