    i'll be there aug 1-5.  what's there to do?  the only thing i have planned so far is the aquarium.  i love aquariums.  any good outdoor music festival type stuff?  i like those too

    werd on moma. free 3rd wednesdays, or something i think.

    eat at scoma's. check out union street, around divisadero. hayes st, just north of city hall. lower haight, upper playground. mission district for mexican food that is better than anything in LA. catch a giants game. go to golden gate park for a whole day. upper haight for shoe shopping. bring a skateboard

    well, have you been there before?

    i hear the new DeYoung museum is excellent.
    MoMa, and all of zag's suggestions are spot on.

    Walk the Golden Gate Bridge, and take your pick of the various viewpoints all over the city (Twin Peaks, Coit Tower, and many hidden ones that are not full of tourists). Dinner in North Beach, burritos in the Mission, movie at the Castro Theater, Sunday afternoon shopping the Haight. Baseball at PacBell Park or whatever they call it now. For bars, the Toronado is great, I also liked Tradr' Sam. Also Lime SF for brunch, you'll come out drunk, and probably blinded from the clientele.
