    UnInc EST Bindings

just got the 09 uninc EST bindings in....

are there supposed to be no gas pedals on these?

i guess since that... there's no disc/base... you're 'closer' to the board... there may not be a need for them.

wondering how they'll feel without the additional support.

are all EST bindings like this?

they have cantbeds which dont have adjustable gas pedals, and neither do the thinner shredbeds.  normal EST beds (sensory beds) and the higher end superbeds are adjustable though.

    Re: UnInc EST Bindings

    thanks.

i equate the cantbed to better 'feel' of the board... (am i correct?.. as i have never used them before)

but is there any loss of response without the gas pedals?

my grandma died from death, they said it was old age, but now that I think about it she did swap some cantbeds into her Escapade EST's.

cant beds are angled in to mirror the natural A frame that your legs make.  some like them, some dont.. youll have to find out for yourself.  i havent ridden them either.  ive only ridden shredbeds and sensory beds and preferred sensory beds.

Hi, Im new to this forum, and very new to est's

Is this 'gas pedal' people are talking about the plastic thing I've seen with most est bindings, that goes into the channel first. Its in the middle of the binding?

Anyway, cos I just bought th 09 season uninc est's (brand new) and theres no little plastic bit. Do I just mount it by the outside screws?

    I hope this makes sense.

are you talking about that little white tab that goes in the channel and tells you your angles, heel toe centering etc?

Yeah, the 09 unincs don't have them, they aren't gas pedals, just angle indicators.

To get the angles you want your bindings to be at just sight down the channel and you should see angles printed on the baseplate of the binding, just rotate the binding so the angle you want lines up with the channel.

Oh, ok. Thanks a lot buddy. I was just a little worried. I'm not gonna be riding until I go to Switzerland for this season in december anyway, so I would have had time to get them back to the shop anyway. Thanks for the help.

    Re: UnInc EST Bindings

Gas pedal is the toe half of the bed.  On traditional Burton Bindings, and on the Sensory and Mega-Bed, the front half is seperated from the rear and the distance between them can be adjusted to make the base "longer".

It's called Gas Pedal because it sits under the ball of the foot and toes, and raises them... feels like you're pressing on a "gas pedal".

    Re: UnInc EST Bindings

I'm surprised if  you can find a medium uninc est, especially new.  Have you heard, though, Easy loungin is the forum to be at these days.  You'll want to try it, but I've seen a 11.5 in a med binding.
