Help please! Ions 12size on regular board?

    hi guys,
    i need some help.
Would my 09 Ions, size 12, fit a waist 256m? Or the shrinkage does not cut it here?
    Thanks in advance

    doable, but not ideal.

i personally wouldnt want to go below 260 with size 12 ions.

nah don't worry about it homie, they just made wide boards for shits and giggles, and all those pros with size 9 feet, they ride boards WAY to wide for them

I dont know what to believe anymore bro.
I really wanna go for the 243m deck, and with what I heard up to now,  I have to stretch to a longer board to get the 257m

size 12 is doable on a 25.7cm waist width.

i would maybe go with something a tad wider if you're riding on ICE all the time, but 25.7 is  in mid-wide territory already and good enough if you're riding anywhere that isn't on the ice coast.

    i have a 25.9 and a size 11.5/12 boot. does that help?

also, the wider your stance, the more room there is for your boot, because of the shape of the board.

I don't like to go under 257 and I have 10.5 ions.  You can ride whatever the hell you want to ride and get down the mountain just fine, but you might as well get something that fits right.  Know what I mean?

Re: Help please! Ions 12size on regular board?

the problem is I do not have access at this point to a demo or a rental.
On the 261-4mm width decks that I use it looks that I have plenty of space with the Ions.
So the difference of 5-6mm would create a problem?
I personally think not, but its better to get your opinions too.

Re: Help please! Ions 12size on regular board?

I ride 08 Sabbath 12's, L Triads, down to a 252 waist with no trouble (25in wide +21/-15) .  However I have noticed that with EST you need to ride a slightly wider waist width because of the foot bed on the bindings; 256 was plenty.  If you really want a wide board you might want to look at something with an aggressive sidecut and a lot effective edge to help it feel less like a 2x12.  A mid wide board should be more than enough but really the choice is yours.

hell no. a size 12 ion will be like 32cms or longer, every US size adds 10 millimeters! you may not want to fully compensate or that but a mid wide is as skinny as you want to go, and really 26.5 would be nice, my 2cts.

12 sl-10 max. stance on uninc 60 ´08 (252mm an 7,74radius) works for park and playing around perfectly. sure its not the best for pow and carving, but I can live with that.

Re: Help please! Ions 12size on regular board?

I agree with most people that this is pushing it but a lot has to do with your stance.  I might have missed your set-up somewhere  but if you are riding a big duck foot you might be fine with a smaller waistline.  I am a size 10 but won't ride a board narrower that 252mm.  If your gut tells you 256mm is pushing it, then it probably is.
