Second Time Snowboarding: Can I use Burton Custom?

    Hello,

I plan to snow board this year. And this will be my second time. Can I use Burton Custom? If not can you recommend something else. I want something that is last long. Your input is appreciated.

    thanks.

As long as you're not falling off onto rocks, the Custom will be fine for you.

Re: Second Time Snowboarding: Can I use Burton Custom?

Thank you so much for all your feedback.

Well, my friend who is in the intermediate or advanced level. He said I was doing very well for first timer...perhaps because it was my first time so I brake a littletoo  often. I wouldn't say I got full control of it. So hopefully this time i will be better...I spent a good 3-4 hours on my first time.

So the Burton Custom shouldn't be a problem for me? I heard it is much more stiffer than the Burton Clash which means it is very responsive.

Re: Second Time Snowboarding: Can I use Burton Custom?

its not a whole lot stiffer than the clash but is a much much much better board in terms of materials and performance.the custom might be a bit harder to get a hang of the sport on compared to the clash but if you are serious about getting into snowboarding it is a far better board to learn and progress on and it will last you for many seasons.

If you can still use the Clash, there's no reason you shouldn't, but a Custom will not be unrideable. As long as you don't get super-stiff bindings, you should be alright.

yes a custom will be fine. I've seen people take those all the way from dropping bowls to the pipe and down the groomers too. Just start off with a softer binding such as a freestyle or a custom and you will be fine. The custom is a resonably priced board too and if you find a clear-out from last season you could score one for around $300-ish.

honestly, just get the method with c60s. they're both really expensive so they HAVE to be good for beginners and professionals

    spend your $$$ on boots

and find a board that fits your height and foot size then aim to situate yourself on the higher side of the recommended weight range so you can learn to push it around instead of your new ride whipping your already bruised ass into the snow again

have fun and enjoy wishing it snows all the time

Truer words have never been spoken... I got a cheap pair of burtons a few years ago because they were, well, cheap. SO excited, upgraded to Ozones this year... finally wont have to deal with re-tying my boots every run because the lacing system was so crappy.

The Customs are fine. Freestyles are garbage, but Customs are fine.

i was thinking missions or cartels, but yes the customs have come a long way from being 1 step better than the freestyles. i am begining to think powriderturk is a shop kid....
