I ride both highbacks to almost exactly parallel. What I noticed on the P1's I just got, is I cant really tweak it as much as the Mission highback to get it where I like to be. I would guess that it would be the boot but it seems that the front toe edge of the base plate (movable toe piece) is almost flush with the side edge of the board and the heel side of the base plate is about an inch away from the side edge when the boot is centered...
