After only ten days of use there is definitely an issue there. Things got much worse when the 08 Ion speedzone hook came into play.

I'll post a pic of the strap wear on the new ones later.

It's not a major thing and it's not like the straps are going to break, but it's super annoying when they fill with snow, or get tattered and catch on stuff. Not a deal breaker, but a very simple thing that I think can be fixed easily. The OG Cartels had full leather straps and were just as comfy, plus they lasted much longer than the new 'cushy' ones.
Re: It's happening again...

BURTON IN SHODDY PRODUCT SHOCKER!

Re: It's happening again...

he has no reason to bluff, Andy is solid normal people. I've ridden this pair for 3 days. The inside of both straps have already started to wear through. Why have I continued to buy Cartels? Because they just work as far as riding goes. But now I'm thinking that the 3rd time is enough. Surely there's a more durable material that can be used without sacrificing comfort.

This is the last pair of B binders I buy until something changes. Last year the speedzone hook definitely contributed to the issue, but I was hoping with 09 Ions it wouldn't happen.
Re: It's happening again...

seems CRAZY. i have p1 straps from 03 that are still mostly fine, chewed up but nothing major
