i'm looking at mens pants and jackets but dont really know what i need or what is recommended leave some feedback on good quality pants and jackets that dont cost a fortune

Burton Cargo pants are nice... go to Scheels and pillage the last-year racks... On jackets I usually check for insulation in the sleeves first, then a zip-out liner, then everything else. On pants it's all about fit and waterproofing. Go get 'em...
