    okay i know that the hail 2009 has no speed lacing system thanks for the picture. is the speed lacing good or not what think you?

    horrible system. the laces always wear out and are a b!tch to replace. like every 10 days or so i replace them. it sucks but i paid too much for my boots. the speed zone also causes boots to lose forward lean, so if you like to be super aggro and have f6 lean like i do, you're fvcked. it also sucks that you don't have any fine control over the tightness of different parts of the boot. and it's not fast at all. regular laces are just as quick if not quicker.

    the worst part about speedzone is definitely the lack of foreward lean-ability of the boots.

    i actually custom extend all my foreward lean adjusters so im at about f9 (in burton terms) and i have a super hard time with my sorel SZs fitting in there

    im at the lowest foreward lean too.  i tried f2 for one run and didnt like it.

    and yes, i love speedzone too.  i wont use anything else.. after so many little adjustments needing to be made this year while on the hill, ive really experienced how damn easy it is to make those adjustments.

    i like speedzone. i think it's already lot better now than what is on my boots which is only from a season or so ago. still, it's not a deciding factor of a boot for me, there are laced boots that i would take over speedzone boots, it's not something i consider a deal breaker.

     

    i ride about f 2.5ish.

    I Find that they tend to loosen throughout the day. I'm not a fan of having to re tighten every few runs or before every super-agresive run.
    I liked lace upsss.

    I have found that to be a problem initially but after a few runs they loosen up a tad. And they work really well. But then they continue to loosen and if unattended to I feel like I'm swimming in them. I pulled my arch mildly because of a loose upper and ankle area. MEh

    A new improvement with the 09 line with speedzone is the simple fact that you just pull both sides upper and lower zone and yank back DONE. They (we) have eliminated the step of crossing the lace over the hook.Which makes it much faster to boot , suit and beat your friends to first chair on a powder day since there is no friends on a pow day.Also laces are much more bomber proof and durable as well as the cletes have been improved ,so they WILL NOT slip or get loosed through out the day.Rode two variations of the Driver X project I was happy my feet were warm dry and comfortable.Bring on the hate...Im over it!
