    Burlington Summer Sale

Can someone please tell me about the august burton sale in Burlington? Are there really good deals and a decent selection of gear? Will all the good stuff sell out quickly? I just considering if it is worth going to or not.

It sells quickly, and the stuff is usually around 60% off or so.

It's been awhile, but I worked the summer sale back in 2002.  People litteraly camped out the night before and the line went all the way down Industrial Ave. All of the really good deals go in the first couple of hours as far as the popular sizes and items.  But make an effort to dig through boxes/tubs etc... As I found some great outwear that was marked down to next to nothing on the bottom of bins that I couldnt' find anything wrong with.

I think it's the same as in NY: the retail stores are all at 30% right now. But if you buy a full set up you get 60% off.  You may be able to bargin what a full set up means for you though, i.e., if you don't need boots with the board and bindings but you do need outewear, etc.

Do they have any demo boards or prototypes for sale? Would this sale be worth a 4 hour drive?

that would depend how much your planning on spending and if you get there in time to get what you want.

it's a fun scene... local mtns and radio stations get into the act. you can sometimes find stuff for super cheap (t's for $5 or less, old school snowboards for $20, etc.)....

wrentham also has some crazy good sales occasionally too (the outlet) with t's 2 for $5, jeans for $20, etc.

Yup wrentham always has good deals on shirts and jeans and such.

No real deals on hard goods at wrentham though.

When is the Burlington sale usually? Did they advertise it last year?

I want to get a new pair of pants and bindings or boots. I think I might get up really early and try to get there a few hours before it opens. The sale starts August 8th at 7am.

    Re: Burlington Summer Sale

A few years ago, a Burton person called me and told me about the sale at the Showroom in Irvine. Sadly, I didn't have the $$$ then. This sale happened in May.

If they asked me today, I'd jump at the chance!

I hope someone would post info if they hear anything.

the irvine showroom no longer sells the samples. the only thing they sell anymore at season's end is demo boards and binders. and those are long gone, and go thru the reps not the showroom.
