    Binding Base Plates

I found a rossignol board for really cheap and i was thinking about getting it to last a season before i spend some money on a nice board, but the owner of a local snowboard shop was telling me that burton had a custom binding base plate and wouldn't work on other boards.  He said I would have to ask for a standard one or buy it from the site, but i don't see these available.  I was looking to put the Burton Customs on last years model of the rossignol RPM.  Will the customs fit on this board or do i need a special base plate or what?

so your saying that the bolt pattern doesn't fit the 3-hole base plate? if yes, burton makes 4 bolt base plates for non burton boards and they used to come with the bindings

That owner of the local snowboard shop is full of crap!!!! Burton Bindings work on any board. They all come with a four hole disc so you can mount it to any board no matter what brand it is.

What is the name of that shop? Not all shop people know what they are talking about. holes in it. I knew beforehand that you couldn't put EST bindings on a regular board. I know more about the boards than that guy.

So now evertime I go into a shop I don't ask questions becOne shop guy, at my local shop, told me that you could put EST Bindings on a regular board with 3 or four ause they are all full of crap.

    Re: Binding Base Plates

customs should have a universal plate... the one you were using on a burton board should work, because its set up with the 4-hole pattern as well.

Walk in that shop give the guy a slap and walk out. He has no idea what he is talking about and as such should keep his ignorant, or ill informed, mouth shut.

    Re: Binding Base Plates

Hey, I got another one for you guys... I've got ride bindings on my supermodel X from 2 years ago (3d hole pattern). I managed to get those on there with only three bolts.... Am I asking for trouble... A guy told me he had the same setup and the bolts sheared in the inserts, so he ***ed up both is board and is bindings.. Is he also full of it (it was a store cleck also, lol). I'd rather buy some other bindings than a whole setup. Thanks...

    Re: Binding Base Plates

yes you are asking for trouble. 4 hole discs are meant to be used with 4 bolts.

ride should be able to provide you with discs that work

Ok, so I kind of agree with you man, but here's the thing.. on the ride site (see link) they talk about this (see 3 hole mounting disk). If you click on the PDF attached, i've got the same as shown. So who is rigth here?? Don't get me wrong, I don't want to doubt you but I'd like to keep my bindings. Thanks again!! By the way, how do you link this??

    Re: Binding Base Plates

It's being discussed, because of some specific team riders.

    No decision from Corporate yet.
