    The Rome Lo-Fi

So, the girl is also looking to get into the Rome line-up. She's been riding the Burton Troop for a couple of seasons, but wants something different.

She's an all-mountain rider, from pow to park to rails, looking for a freestyle allrounder, perhaps even a park board. However, she's still going to do powder runs.

The Rome Lo-Fi seems to fit that bill, but what about the 1985? Any of you gals who can give any input? The only other board she's looking at is the Feelgood ES, but I'm thinking it might not be enough playful for her.

    Thanks.

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

thel lo-fi is a fun dorking around board. it has a softer flex inbetween the binding and a stiffer nose and tail. it sucks in powders. i have not ridden the 1985 verison, but its just rockered.

for a womens board the feelgood es is pretty stiff and i feel its a really boring board to ride.

So, with the risk of soundng like the camber virgin I am, wouldn't the rev. camber, in theory, help with the pow bit?

    Thanks for the input, btw.

yes, but keep in the mind its not a pow board. its small and flexy.

i also remember the board being a bit wide for its size. i guess that will help in powder too.

Thanks. I think the main point for her is to have something fun which will work in the park, but also do a bit of everything. The 1985 might just do that, I guess. Seems like a solid choice.

    Again, thanks for the input.

If she wants an all around board the Blue will fit the bill better than the Lofi/Lofi 1985.

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

Really? From what I've gathered, the Blue is a lot more geared towards freeriding than the Lo-fi, perhaps to the extent of becoming an Anthem for girls, i.e. stiff and not too playful. For her, it's fun as number one, park as number two, pow in trees as number three and everything else as number four.

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

the lofi is fine.  and its only "small" and flexy if you ride it shorter than normal, which would also be the reason (along with the rider being at fault) it "sucks in pow", which i assume means "worse than normal."

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

The Blue and Anthem are quite a bit alike...both are directional and designed to be all mountain boards for riding everything.

The LoFi would be more like a womens version of a Mod...a precise true twin freestyle focused board that's capable of handling the entire mountain.

The Vinyl would be more equivalent to an Agent...not quite a twin, freestyle oriented board that's designed for handling all terrain.

The Detail would be a women's version of the Artifact...a true twin jib board.

The Jett is like the Headline (the revised version of the Solution).

i would have suggested the vinyl, but i get the idea that there is a slightly higher end deck in mind.

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

Yes, there is. None the less, I'm open to ideas and comments. Neither myself nor the girl has any actual experience from Rome boards, so please do feel free to give me your thoughts. A higher end board is what she's looking at though, so as to not feel as if she's taken a step back from the Troop. She needs a board to have fun with as well as take the next big step on, meaning bigger jumps, more spins and still being able to kick guys' asses all over the mountain.

It has to be light, though.

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

the blue would be good for that, but the flex is a preference thing and its a stiffer womans board.

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

Yeah, that's what I thought too. The risk seems to be losing some of that playful feel and, once again, I think a fun board is the main objective here.

if you must go rome, i still vote for the lofi, but otherwise.. maybe the feelgood?  or even the feelgood rocker...

    Re: The Rome Lo-Fi

Yes, that could be a possible board for her. The question is how the Lo-Fi 1985 compares to the Feelgood rocker.

Also, what's the weight like compared to the Feelgood and the Troop?
