I went to our (kind of) local shop yesterday to check out all the new 2010 stuff. They had some of the stuff custom, custom v-rock, fix, hero, custom x, and of course the vaypoor. So I started talking to the dood at the counter about the new boards and the new tech. The guy was a bit "off" if you will on his information about the boards. According to him the vaypoor is the best board in the line because it's so expensive. He told me that corporate business owners come in and buy like five vaypoors for their upcoming trip to the hill. He then proceeds to tell me they use them for a day and then don't appreciate the godly-ness of the board and they aren't able to appreciate the extreme lightness of the board. After he finished telling me the whole vaypoor deal I was trying to think of something to say but all that came to mind was your a fxcktard, so I ended up just saying "Wow, cool." I thought I would give him one more shot so I asked him about the Easy Livin, he responded by saying yeah I think I saw that at the show. So then I asked what board the EL was similar to in last years line. He told me uhh... I dont know. I then told him it was the un..inc. Then I asked about the EL V-rock.... he didn't know there was such a thing. Then when I went to check out downstairs, he was like you know...Burton really is the best brand... they just make the best sh!t you know? I was pretty surprised a fvcking shop employee would say this, because 1. They sound like a bafoon if they tell this to someone who knows their sh!t. And 2. Because it's being counter-productive of what they are trying to accomplish (Trying to sell a lot of their boards that AREN'T Burton)
Basically I'm just kind of pissed at this because a 15 year old knows more about snowboards and their different techs than a 20 something year old employee who actually WORKS in the snowboard industry.
~Rant over~
TheInfamousGreed:Have you ever met a manager at a snow/skate shop? They tend to be even worse than the people below them. It starts from the top. When the shop is owned by goons the employees tend to be goons.
