  • Re: Custom X Wide 159cm Board....Bindings???

It's all going to be personal preference. Personally, I ride C02s on mine.

  • Re: Disadvantages of riding a wide board?

It probably won't, but you would have been fine with the 250mm waist.Where in MD/PA do you ride? I grew up riding Wisp and 7 Springs.

  • Re: Disadvantages of riding a wide board?

There are no disadvantages per se, what you should be asking is if a wide board is right for you. You have size 10 boots, which is generally considered not to be wide board territory, but each boot is different. The reason you go to a wide board is because your toes/heels hang over to such an extent that you have to worry about them digging into ...

  • Re: custom v-rocker vs lib tech TRS BTX

If you're narrowed down to these two, most of the responses you're going to get on this message board(including my response), is going to say the Custom V-Rocker. For me the reason is construction. Lib Tech boards are too heavy, and to try and cut down on the weight they don't use a full metal edge. This is stupid. Supremely stupid. I bought a ...

  • Re: What is the closest thing Burton do to a Ride Yukon? May Change

Custom X Wide 168, no question. For the type of riding you're talking about doing, and the kind of stiff board you're coming from, this is your best bet.

  • Re: When to wax new board?

This is one of those personal preference areas. Personally I used to never wax a new board, I'd just ride it for a while and then take it to the shop. If you're going to be riding a lot though, spend the money on the iron. It's cheap, $35-$40. The other stuff is cheap too. Once I started, I would wax the board every couple days, because I could ...

  • Custom X with Flying V

Not sure if it's too early to ask this question, but I was wondering if anyone knows if this is possible next year? It seems logical, as the Custom line is Burton's flagship line, and so they seem to introduce all the latest tech into it. I don't seem them making a Custom Flying V, a Custom V-Rocker, and a Custom standard, but a Custom X Flying V ...

  • Re: bindings for the 09/10 season

Ordinarily the marketing rhetoric of 'There's a reason more pros, Burton and non, ride these...' etc. etc. is BS, but with the Cartels I have to agree. I have 2 pairs of them, and it's what I recommend to most of my friends. For the money, they seem to be the best choice. They're easily adjustable, great performers, and very durable.
